Torrington, has an unspoilt market and town square. The Orchard Theatre is one of the areas main arts centre, along with the Beaford Centre in Beaford just outside Torrington.
The common is popular with visitors and tourists, try the ice-creams from the van. The common is also the site of the Torrington Cavaliers Bonfire celebrations involving the burning of a spectacular structure, even a replica of the Houses Of Parliament has been burnt.
There are country walks along the Tarka Trail to Bideford, following the river. Start at the bottom of the steep hill by the Common, towards Bideford,at the old railway station. You can also go inland.
