Lou’s Journey so far
Louise Bell our customer care manager is on the night of July the 14th doing the marathon Walk the Night 2018 in London in aid of postate cancer which her dad is currently undergoing treatment for. Now this is no mean feat and those that know and love Lou will be thinking are you crazy, well I think there has to be a certain amount of that involved, but when it is for something so close to your heart like your dad then it gives you that extra push. She could not have picked a worse year weather wise to start the training but with her friends Zoe White and Hannah Lawrence by her side the training started with short distances on the weekends.
Come rain or shine
Just like the weather Cancer does not care what plans you have and Lou, Zoe and Hannah have had one of the wettest, coldest springs to train in followed buy one of the hottest early summers especially these last few weeks and the forecast is still going to be hot for the walk . The determination not to give in is inspiring and like Lou’s family we are so very proud of her. Mind you they have kept themselves entertained on their walks especially on one particular walk that ended up in a rather apt shape!!! Louise has not even given up the walking training when she recently went abroad for her holiday, which was a good thing seeing as the temp over here has soared. Lets hope on the night the conditions are perfect we all have our fingers crossed.
How you can help
On the 3rd of July Louise's number arrived which has made this whole thing very very real and understandably the nerves have kicked in and the doubt as to whether the target can be achieved raises its ugly head again just like cancer. So we are appealing to everyone can you give Louise some last minute boosting and show your support by either donating to her Just Giving page or sending some words of encouragement via our website, Facebook, or twitter page All messages of encouragement will be sent to her. So far she has raised a great amount but lets help her reach more to help more because it could be you or your dad or your brother. We all have been touched by this dreadful illness but Louise is doing something about it.
